Algimantas Staskevičius, Violin
Algimantas Staskevičius began his violin studies in Vilnius, Lithuania, and earned a master’s degree in Violin Performance from the Lithuanian State Conservatory. He performed with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and toured extensively throughout the Soviet Union and abroad.
After holding principal positions with orchestras in Mexico from 1991 to 1999, he moved to the United States and earned a second master’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. He later performed with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and taught strings in the Jackson Public Schools.
Since 2008, Mr. Staskevičius has been a member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and currently serves as Associate Concertmaster of the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Mexico, the United States, and Bolivia.
Since 2018, he has taught Instrumental Music at the Arkansas School for the Deaf and Blind and is certified as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI).
Beth Massa, Violin
Longtime member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, violinist Beth Massa has led a diverse musical career, performing everything from classical masterworks to Celtic, bluegrass, and rock. She has performed with orchestras, chamber ensembles, rock bands, and a wide variety of musical groups throughout the United States.
Equally passionate about education, she has devoted much of her career to teaching and mentoring students of all ages. In Little Rock, she has served as strings and piano instructor at Episcopal Collegiate School and The Anthony School, as well as orchestra director for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Strings Camp. Her teaching has also taken her to China and Panama, where she worked with students from diverse backgrounds and gained a broader perspective on music education and cultural exchange.
She recBebently relocated to the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks, where she enjoys the peace and quiet and the delightful novelty of driving anywhere without sitting in traffic. Whether performing or working with the next generation of musicians, she remains grateful for a life enriched by music and the communities she has been fortunate to serve.
Tatiana Kotcherguina, Viola
Tatiana Kotcherguina is a Russian-American viola virtuoso, violinist, and dedicated music educator who has been an integral part of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra since 2004. Alongside her active performance career, she shares her passion and expertise with the next generation of string musicians as an Adjunct Instructor of Viola at the University of Central Arkansas, where she has served since 2012.
Tatiana’s musical journey began with honors at the prestigious Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow, followed by a Master of Music degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her extensive global performance career includes serving as Principal Violist for both the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the Moscow Experimental Opera Theater, as well as Associate Principal Violist for Mexico’s Symphony Orchestra OSUANL. True to her international background, Tatiana is completely fluent in Spanish and holds certification as an instructor of Russian as a foreign language, allowing her to bring a unique, multilingual approach to her studio.
Stephen Feldman, Cello
Stephen Feldman joined the faculty at the University of Central Arkansas in 2001 after holding teaching positions at the University of Virginia, Penn State University, and DePauw University. A graduate of Swarthmore College, the Eastman School of Music, and the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Stephen’s mentors include cellists Steven Doane and Timothy Eddy.
Formerly a member of the Fetter and Rivanna String Quartets, Dr. Feldman also performed as cellist in the Quapaw and Sturgis String Quartets during his six years as a full-time player with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. More recent concerts have taken him throughout the United State as well as to Taiwan, China, South Korea, and Bolivia.
